On behalf of JSC “Research and Production Corporation “Uralvagonzavod”, I am glad to greet the participants, organizers and guests of the International Rail Business Forum “Strategic Partnership 1520: the Caspian Region”.

To increase rail sector efficiency is a present-day strategic task. The Business Forum “Strategic Partnership 1520: the Caspian Region” makes a favourable opportunity for the participants to discuss rail sector challenges and needs across 1520 as well as project future plans and define distinct objectives to support competitiveness of rail transport market.   

I am sure that meeting of so many representatives will promote modernization of Russian rail transport and freight traffic thus paving the way of new-quality innovation-based development.

Uralvagonzavod is the acknowledged leading manufacturer of 1520-gauge freight railway vehicles. Year by year we diversify innovative railway products guided by the demands of existing sector development conditions. I am sure that close cooperation with rail carriers and other railway vehicle manufacturers will lead us to success.    

Hopefully, our dialogue will contribute to development of not only particular companies but also the complete rail sector. I expect that we discuss key issues in detail, and all our initiatives will be of practical use.

I wish all the forum participants find something interesting and useful among various topics for discussion and reports. I hope our activity will involve fruitful and positive discussions, effective cooperation. May this event be rewarding for all of you!
